Not Boston’s first set back. I can’t think of a Tech alum more equipped to overcome it.
True. And he's just starting to write his story re: the pros. You are right, he's overcome worse. I don't usually get too sentimental about such things, but this one just seems particularly unfair, given what he has had to deal with. Thought he had climbed to the top of the mountain, and this landslide just seems....cruel.
It'll make his final victory all the more sweeter!
GO BOSTON!!!
Not a Patriots fan, but they have a knack for seeing what others don’t. He could have some success and then move on to another team down the road.
I was saying earlier in training camp Boston really needed to win the return specialist job. That was his path to a guaranteed roster spot. He was doing good at kick return but not so well at punt return dropping him behind someone like tommie Lee lewis who does both.
This story isn’t over Saints LG Andrus Peat hasn’t been practicing. He’s the Saints starting LG and backup LT. They had to sign two players to replace him this week.
NFL teams don’t have 100 roster spots. They have to move things around weekly as injuries happen. This move says nothing about Boston other than he didn’t win the return specialist job he needed to guarantee his spot on a weekly basis.
If he makes it to the practice squad he’ll be back. Maybe this week. Maybe next week.
Seriously? Is that what you do, just jump from team to team based on who happens to be on top at the moment? Wow!
"why do you continue to be a fan..."
Okay, why do you continue to be a fan of Tech? Or, are you? Using that formula you should be ALL-IN for Bama! And don't use the alma mater excuse. You're doing a disservice to yourself. One can love his school, be happy with that diploma, support his school monetarily, and be a fan of some other school's athletic teams. People do it all the time!
All I can say is I am a Saints' fan. I remember vividly the day they were "born." It was November 1, 1966 "All Saints Day" and thus the nickname for the team. As kids we would ride our bikes to their David Drive training camp, and watch "our heros" practice, get chin straps, autographs, and even toss a football with some of the players.
2005...Katrina had wrecked the city. News crews, in boats, going around getting stories. Old fellow standing in waste deep yucky water, trying to salvage things from his house. Behind him, in the background, was a billboard advertising Saints' season tickets. He was asked about "what now? what do you do now that you have lost everything?" He looks around and sees the billboard, "Oh, we have not lost everything. We still have our Saints!" Some might think he was just being flippant. Nope. He was dead serious. For those who understand, no explanation is necessary, for those who don't...
Yeah the NFL isn't for you then, really all of professional sports for that matter. In MLB and the NBA contracts are usually fully guaranteed, not so in the NFL. Almost all NFL rosters will change after the initial 53 man roster is announced, this certainly happens with the Saints every season.
Boston will either be picked up by another NFL team and given a roster spot or if he clears waivers he will be signed to the Saints practice squad. I am a Saints fan, but I think his best chance to actually play in NFL regular season games this season may lie with another team.

Rookie RB Boston Scott went unclaimed on waivers, per source. It wouldn't surprise me if Scott is back with the Saints on the practice squad at some point.

Boston Scott is expected to sign the practice squad
