This isn’t about Gillislee, it’s about Andrus Peat.

Saints RB Jonathan Williams is being promoted to the active roster from the practice squad, per source. Makes sense considering they only had 2 RBs active. And wouldn’t be surprised to see him split time with Mike Gillislee as the backups. Don’t know who was released yet.

I think Scott has a chance to come back this week. Gillislee is in the doghouse after a fumble that was returned for a touchdown. I think Tommie Lee Lewis got his spot because he can return kicks and punts...but he doesn’t do either great. In the preseason Brandon Tate was the best punt returner and Boston Scott was the best kick returner. This week I say they cut Tommie Lee Lewis and Mike Gillislee and bring back Boston Scott and Brandon Tate. I don’t know if it’ll happen because Payton never seems to want to get rid of Tommie Lee Lewis...but I think that’s what needs to happen.

You were the one stating emphatically Boston would never make a 53-man roster, because no one wants him. You were all over defending the signing of Gillesilly, reveling in Boston being cut from the active roster. The TV guys said Gillesilly has a history of fumbling. Well....there ya go. Great job Payton. If he was any good the best coach in football, Bill Belichek, wouldn't have given him an unconditional release.

I put the gris gris on him, and bam! fumble, return-6.

And, if the Saints get any points on that drive, they win.

Did I say he would never make the 53 man roster? I don’t think so. I said he’d probably be back at some point...I said the bottom of these rosters change week to week and it could be a roller coaster season for Boston...But it was clear he wasn’t in the team’s plans for this week. And every team in the NFL had a chance to claim him for their 53-man roster and passed.

If the Saints do let Gillislee go, don’t be surprised if the patriots bring him back depending on the severity of Jeremy Hill’s injury. He was their second leading rusher last year and had just 1 fumble.

A couple weeks later than I would've liked but they brought back Brandon Tate yesterday. He'll be the punt returner. Taysom Hill has done a fine job as the kick returner the past two weeks...and Ingram comes back next week so it's not looking good for Boston getting promoted anytime soon.

Well rats, I was hoping for the same thing. Maybe he still gets on the active roster before the season's over.

He needs to check in to the AAF (Alliance of American Football). It starts up in February, right after the Super Bowl.
