The bad part in all of this for Boston is the fact the Saints probably knew what they were going to do after Peat exited the game Thursday night in the first half and headed to the lockerroom. By waiting to release Boston until well into game week they increased their chances he would clear waivers and they could add him to their practice squad.

The Saints knew Peat's injury from last year's playoffs might take this long to heal. They then passed on matching the money the Texans gave Senio Kelemente to be a starter, signed Jermon Bushrod as a backup tackle, where he hasn't played in 4 years (he's played guard the past 3 seasons), and then drafted a project in tackle Rick Leonard from Florida State, who is the highest draft pick the Saints have waived in the final 53-man cuts since 2010.

That's led them to having to sign two backup tackles with Peat questionable. Boston then gets caught in the numbers game.

I'm willing to bet money the Saints move a running back off of the practice squad before Sunday and it won't be Boston Scott. He's not caught in a numbers game. He made himself expendable. And no team in the NFL wants him on their 53 man roster at this time.

as I have wrote many times-- you are my favorite poster . I am 95% sure Boston will be on practice squad by tomorrow and Coach explained it to him before it became public. Several articles coming out of New Orleans attribute the move to giving Boston a little more practice in the offense . Same thing with Henderson in Denver ( unless they cut him)

I have seen zero posts about Driscol but he has been getting a lot of press as #2 QB.

Hold your breath on this one-- he has cleared waiver and all the New Orleans media expect him to spend a few weeks learning the complicated offense. Google Boston Scott and everything coming out is upbeat on Boston. Boston has been posting very positive stuff on his twitter account

Do not give up yet - both Henderson and Boston will be on practice squad --difference is Boston will have a career with Saints --not sure about Henderson.

Driscol has worked up to backup QB so that's great and Dixon ok. as most of us expected Trent has earned the respect of Niners --he played with bad back and had surgery in off season .

The part about no team wanting Boston on their 53 man roster is the only fact in his post. Once a player is waived the other 31 teams get a chance to sign the player on their 53 man roster, so every NFL team did in fact decide not to sign Boston. Word is he signed on the Saints practice squad after receiving offers to sign on other teams practice squads. No free agent offers to be on a 53 man roster.

He was definitely caught in a numbers game. The Saints may very well move a running back to the 53 man roster, who knows if it will be Boston? One would think the Saints would have at least 3 running backs on their 46 man active gameday roster.

Speaking facts. A month ago I said it was important he win the return specialist job. He didn’t. I said he would clear waivers. He did. The Saints ARE going to add a RB to the active roster before Sunday and I bet it’s not Boston. Let’s see.

No numbers game. There’s no way the saints are going into Sunday’s game with 2 running backs. They’re moving him to the practice squad to pull another running back off. Jonathan Williams or Dewayne Washington. My guess is Jonathan Williams.

So why did he make himself expendable?

He would haven been a lock if he had distinguished himself at return specialist.

Unfortunately RBs in the NFL are a dime a dozen. It used to be a premier position, now it’s a plug and play position. The bad thing for Boston is his skill set matches Alvin Kamara’s and you are not going to get rid of Kamara for Scott.

He didn’t win the return specialist job...which is the primary reason they drafted him.
