CUSA Track & Field Championships
Just curious. Noticed that we were not very competitive this year in track and field with men 9th and women 12th overall. Traditionally we have had a very competitive (especially in conference) track and field team both men and women. What's up?

Re: CUSA Track & Field Championships
Long story, lots of reasons. Summary: We were Very good at WAC conference meets because the conference was very different and we had an amazing assistant coach that was taken from us by a larger school. He (the assistant) had a great pipeline to sprinters and hurdlers which helped keep the program competitive. Track has few scholarships and it's traditionally VERY underfunded, as well. I've heard our HC is the lowest paid and was even the lowest paid in WAC. He's good and he works hard, but without even the resources to retain your best assistant, it's hard to keep winning.
