yes that's actually a CUSA tourney rule that somebody pointed out the other day. Looks like the only team that would've gotten an at large will be crowned. We finally won a USM series and they STILL own us

This appears to be the ultimate ‘Murphy’s Law’ scenario, everything that could go wrong is going wrong.

The only advantageous fate of it all that I see, a long long shot, is for the Tech/Rice game to be cancelled, the tournament cancelled and SMiss to be declared the champions. Then at least Tech would’ve finished 2nd in the league and possibly get an at large NCAA invitation based on that and our beating SMiss 2/3 at their place.

But we all know it could twist and turn a thousand different ways with Tech being disappointed yet again.

We had to win two or three games in the tournament to get a remote chance at an at large. Team is in the 40s get left out all the time. Teams in the 50s don't get in unless they are in a P5 conference

Ha college, I played in a softball tourney where one of the umpires had an umbrella, and home plate was a cone.

Our RPI is sitting at 58 with an SOS outside of the top 100. And we have just 3 top 50 wins. The home series losses to Charlotte and MTSU at the end of the season were killers. We're almost certainly on the outside looking in at this point.

If the tournament can't be finished, our only hope would be to survive for as long as we can and hope Southern Miss implodes and goes 0-2 before it's called. At that point we would be the highest seed standing.
