That's the logo I have on my pencil holder, and the one that was on the cover of the notebooks. I have pennant with it too. And probably other stuff as well. All of it dating from the '70's.

When people say this, joking or serious, I think of something my grandfather used to say. He was a graduate of Penn St and Louisiana Tech. It never failed that the games he saw with us were against teams now in the belt. He would enjoy the game, but as we were leaving would ask, “who is ready to go home and turn on some big boy football.”
I feel like we have finally graduated from that level and don’t see any need to dip back down.

Does it matter? Our leadership has zero accountability, and even when we have good schedules (SEC in the Joe last year!) we screw it up so badly that no one comes back.
MS State recently played a game in that stadium against USA.
That Dawg was in use when I arrived at TECH in the Summer of 1966.
