    Interstate 14

Proposed east-west interstate would connect Texas to Georgia, from the New Mexico line to the Atlantic Ocean. Will pass thru Louisiana roughly from Leesville to just south of Alexandria and cross the Mississippi River between Vicksburg and Natchez.

Waiting on the legislatures in Bama and in Georgia to get on board. Ready to go thru Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.

From Alex east. But, would mirror Hwy 28 between Alex and Leesville, at least that's the way it looks on the map. Which is not a very detailed map, granted.

Somebody needs to tell whoever is pushing for this that I-20 already connects El Paso to Atlanta.

Close, since we have some relatively new bridges at Natchez (MS River) and Jonesville(Black River), it has been expressed that these would (or could)be utilized as they are already in the footprint of the I-14 and would also save lots of dollars. There have also been some very recent environmental studies on the hwy 84 route anyway which could help speed up things.

Actually this is about a twenty year old idea, it started gaining some momentum after Katrina as most felt a four-laned Hwy-84 or the proposed I-14 would assist in evacuation efforts in the future. The East -West corridor of HWY 84 is pretty heavily traveled(for what it is) even though most of it in Louisiana is not four laned.

Government officials can only count to 14 not 20.
