For any of you interested a trademark application serial number 85041792 was filed in 2010 for the puppy logo. The trademark office simply asked for a clarification of the description of services and even provided a suggested description, but no response was filed so the application was abandoned. There was no opposition or other proceedings. It was just abandoned. I could find no other bulldog registered marks or applications with Louisiana Tech in the name of the applicant. Since a lot of us don't like it, it's no loss, but it appears to be pretty sloppy work.

No. Abandoning an application is not the same as abandoning the mark so long as it has been in continuous use. If they really want to all they have to do is refile the application, hopefully with the correct description of the services.

I guess that was the whole hangup on the White-T logo. Maxie apparently didn't bother to trademark it, either.

I guess that was the whole hangup on the White-T logo. Maxie apparently didn't bother to trademark it, either.

The state T is registered in two variations. Also LOUISIANA TECH, LOUISIANA TECH UNIVERSITY, LADY TECHSTERS, and the Seal. There are several pending applications including DUNKIN' DOGS, LOVE SHACK, EVER LOYAL BE, etc.
