Sorry link didnt work
He didn't like it here and was telling his family the coaches weren't treating him right. His dad was being an ass, so the coaches talked to Maureese. He told his dad the truth, made nice with the coaches, and decided to leave.
So much for giving it a little time. Doesn't seem he was around long enough to go "through thick and thin" with his teammates.
Who's Maureese Wren?
Good riddance!!! If he doesn't want to here, he needs to be gone.
Don't be surprised if he winds up playing at Arkansas or SMU.
Wren was LA Tech's prized recruit this past winter from Dallas/Mesquite Horn. He's a 6-3, 210, WR with talent out the azz. Top 50 player in the state of Texas. Wren was originally recruited HARD by Arkansas and was committed to Arkansas. But, he flipped to us when Arkansas had the coaching change in December.
This is truly a sad day at LA Tech. I hate to see this happen worse than any other recruit from this year's recruiting class. But as someone else mentioned, Wren sure didn't give it much time. We're still less than 2 weeks into fall camp.
With all of the new rules making it easier and easier for kids to transfer it is also making it easier for them to be influenced by FBS coaches wanting to fill/upgrade talent 'holes' in their football program. All it takes is a few conversations with the right 'mentoring' coaches/adults who can influence them.
Hate losing him, but at least we didn't have Wren for a couple of years first. Our investment was still pretty modest. Time to get someone who WANTS to be here as his replacement.
. Outstanding football player from Mesquite Texas and highly recruited— we as a program owe him a thanks— he talked 2 teammates from his class to sign at Tech along with another Mesquite player . Coming in to signing day he was hyped as the guy.as far as I know the other 3 are still at Tech.
That said— he had a history of committing - decommitting on a regular basis — 18 pretty young —
Did not see the posts from Hogdawg and others before posting—
It is just a widely accepted practice for incoming guys to commit and decommit and for players to ask for a release and move on to another school. I see a coaching change after a player commits as maybe a reason to change, but then again, overcoming a coaching change, is that not one of life's lessons.
