Seems like we are getting ahead of ourselves. UNT was feeling the same way. We still have some tough games ahead of us and there is no guarantee we win the west let alone the conference. If we win Saturday we should have a few weeks to discuss 12-1 seasons. I would love it, but we haven't exactly looked like world beaters thus far. Hopefully the players put on an impressive display against UAB this weekend.
Morehead is determined to make Fitzgerald a pocket passer = stupid. I hope he doesn't change his approach before we get there!
Exactly. For some reason people have forgotten we got our ass kicked by UNT for much of the game, and almost lost thanks to a baffling final drive.
Amik's block (not Holtz's calls) only ensured that we wouldn't lose the West (for whatever that's worth) that night. It didn't decide who would win.
It's a fan board...it's what we do.
Close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades. In any week, there are a million things that, had they gone differently, the results would've been different. They weren't. We're 3-1 and we're favored ALMOST the rest of the way out. It's not a crazy thing to talk about...particularly given the relative weakness of our league.
Time is your friend. Impulse is your enemy. -John Bogle
It's certainly not crazy to talk about, but you already have people saying anything less than 10-2 is failure. The NT fans had visions of 13-0 in their heads and now they are ready to jump off a cliff looking at a 11-1 season. I'm all about 10-2 or 11-1 but lets not set ourselves (the fans PawDawg) up for disappointment when it's still very likely that we drop a few games we don't expect. UAB is one of those games that will probably give us more trouble than we expect.
I think Chris Robison being a below average QB really hurts 'em. And I KNOW they miss OC Kendall Briles. Thru 14 games last season, FAU averaged 40 pts per game. They are averaging only 31 per game this year.

Unless all the Southern Miss players quit or get the flu, that game can’t be assumed to be a win. We always manage to save a special SNAFU just for them.
I hope you are right. Good news for keeping the team motivated for the next two weeks is UAB controls their destiny in CUSA so the same 2 game swing applies against them. If we get through that, we will be playing another team that likely controls their own destiny at that point.
Apologies for missing last week.
