Funny, I was thinking the exact same thing while I was watching.

First Division I title for Curtis. First state championship since 2013 and their 26th all time.

Interesting discussion about which team is THE BEST in the state. Crosses divisional lines, University High can make an argument, as can Curtis, and later today West Monroe will make its case. But, we'll NEVER know for sure.

Congrats to all SEVEN state champions. But 7 is too many. Or at least, let's take the top 4 and have a playoff. What's two more games, eh!

Walker Howard. Probably a better QB than Holstein right now as a freshman. He may have become the starter mid-season this year but was still dealing with the passing of his mother from cancer. It will be interesting to see QB play in Louisiana over the next several years with Howard and Arch Manning from Newman both hitting the field.

Just got home. Disappointed of course. Great game. The University High, STM, Zachary, and, yes, West Monroe QBs all have excellent talent.

The University RB (#7) is a stud.
The WM RB a little small, but, hell,he packs a punch.

WM defense took a whole half to make adjustments mentally and scheme-wise.
WM offense lost the punch of its H-Back/FB in 2nd half due to a severe 1st half ankle sprain.
Zachary answered the bell and they put the points on the board.

Edna Karr's entrance was a scream. Yarddogs?
