I don't necessarily think Kaep's protest is entirely accurate. He's correct that police violence and military glorification is out of control. I don't see that there's any particular animus towards blacks, but he's welcome to think that, and I could certainly be wrong. Protesting is literally the most American thing you can do. The vets who fought for our freedoms have been dead for 150 years, I have no way of knowing what they'd think.

I wear Nikes because my Hobbit feet are uncomfortable in NB. You all have the right to not wear them. But you also don't have to virtue-signal about it.

Kaep may well be wrong. But that doesn't make him some evil anti-American (as if his nationalism were even an indication of his morality).

For the record, I do think he's being a cry-baby about getting cut.

Glorifying the Castros is about as anti-American as you can be

And he did not get cut. He walked away from a contract with the 49ers and turned down offers from two other teams. So now he sues. Looks like a cry baby. Better check his diaper.

    I don't buy Nike shoes because I can't ever find a 2E width.
Nike's actions were not well received on Wall Street. Their stock is down approx 3% today.

I wouldn't call Kapernick a thug - but he is a hell of a con artist and a damn good grifter....

And Nike has been financing him all this time - which is why he only views himself as a "starting NFL qb" and refuses to take the back-up roles that have been offered -

It's all about the $$$$$ with him - not the cause, not the injustice - he has "taken/snookered" an entire demographic while reaping the benefits of the true ONE PERCENTERS...

Yeah $3.8 Billion in lost market value in one day! Just think of how much more market value will be lost if sales start to plummet. This could be the worst marketing blunder since New Coke. Of course, the Coke executives realized their mistake quickly and reversed course. Nike may well want to consider the same.

So NIKE is calculating $43M in mostly negative media attention to be more valuable than a 3% loss for stockholders?

$43 million THIS MORNING. Obviously, if sales fall, the gamble failed. They were already losing market share to Under Armor and others.

If it is calculated, it would obviously take time to result in increased sales (which, as you know, would positively impact the market value).

What's the other option? It's not calculated and their acting out of the goodness of their heart and the like mind with #BLM?

Come on, this is a $130Billion company. All decisions are business decisions. Is it a risky play? Sure, but it's a play.
