This is not terribly shocking to me. I think the add appeals to the people Nike typically appeals to. The only Nike gear I own is Tech branded and this add campaign wouldn't deter me from buying Tech gear regardless. Everone threatening to burn their Nike gear probably didn't buy that much anyway. Does Nike still make golf equipment?
As soon as a burn my Elton John LPs and Queen LPs - I'll burn what Nike gear I have...
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
I would say that older people tend to focus less on brand and more on price and are less likely to be influenced by the celebrity spokesman. Nike is rarely a good value in my experience. You have to want the brand and be willing to pay for it. If I burned my Nike gear I can assure you it would probably just be some Tech shirts and maybe a polo I got for Christmas or something. For shoes I almost always end up buying Asics for some reason. I refuse to pay more than about $80 for a pair of running shoes.
