Time is your friend. Impulse is your enemy. -John Bogle
This Dr. Ford person needs to show up and testify, under cross examination, on Monday.
Will the FBI launch an investigation into this case? Well, the cynic in me thinks there's a deal in the making coming up. Such as, the FBI tells Trump you don't release those VERY damaging documents and we'll not investigate this alleged incident. Kind of sounds like blackmail to me. But hey! this is the new FBI we are talking about here.
If Ford refuses to show up. Case closed.
I wouldn't be surprised if Ford has not already received threats to her safety, possibly even death threats. I would, however, like to see where these threats (if they have happened or will happen) come from. I would bet $$$ that the majority would be from Democratic supporters trying to paint republicans or conservatives in a bad light. It's not like this hasn't been done several times before.
Why the delay until Monday? If all they are going to do is tell the truth, there is no need for prep time. Why allow until Monday for either side to fabricate something to prove themselves right?
The questions will not be limited to the "incident". They need to prepare her for all of the other questions she will get from republicans. They will attack her credibility and try to expose political biases. She honestly needs to be prepared for that. Kavanaugh prepared for the kind of questions they could ask him at the beginning of the process and there is not likely much else that they will need to ask him. They have already attempted to attack his character and expose his political biases. There may be a few pointed questions for him but he has already weathered that storm once.
Inevitably the democrats will commend her bravery (maybe even suggest a medal of valor) and throw a fit when the republicans question her. Ultimately it probably won't change anything (unless something shocking comes to light). Those who wouldn't vote for him anyway will say this is enough to not vote for him and those who wanted to vote for him anyway will say it's not enough to change anything.
The 'craps are good at what they do. Already anticipating another loss in the Kavanaugh saga, they are criticizing the fact Ford's questioners are all old white men. So, after she gets roasted in the hearing, the 'craps will call foul. Not fair!
Well, while this is not a trial per se, it is a hearing on a serious subject. Since Kavanaugh is the de facto defendant in this proceeding, he's entitled to a jury of his peers. Well...there ya go.
Breaking news... Ford stated she will not testify before Congress until AFTER the FBI has completed it's investigation. Don't see how the FBI can even start.. Ford doesn't remember the address of the house where the alleged incident took place. She can't remember the year. Apparently her latest statements conflict with what she told her therapist years ago. Diane Feinstein has now come out to say that Ford may not be completely honest about her story. Supposedly 3 people were actually in the room when this went down and two of them said nothing happened.
Well, isn’t that interesting.
Awfully brave to ask for an FBI investigation if you are lying.
Isn’t she asking for an investigation by an agency with no jurisdiction? Seems like smearing in the highest order.
How totally absurd that some nobody, liberal, college professor has the audacity to even attempt to dictate to the United States Senate how it is to operate. Mitch McConnell should push this nomination to a vote on Monday.
Meanwhile, that democrap Rep. Elison is accused of sexual assault and his accuser has documented proof. But...crickets. Have you heard anything about that case? You would have if you watch the ONLY news network. But even on FOX it's been a "oh by the way..." type of coverage. If this "me too" movement is so righteous, and if dealing with women-abusers is so critical to the survival of our Republic, as some say, then why the hell is this Elison guy getting such a free pass!?
Of course, we all know why. First he's black. Secondly, and more importantly, he's a (D).
It is quite clear that Kavanaugh is the best SC nominee in a very long time. The best, or one of the best, in my lifetime. So much better than the libs on the court, who don't give a rat's ass about the Constitution. And during all the vetting...the most researched nominee in history...his credentials are shown to be beyond reproach.
So, why all this angst? Well, it has a lot to do with who nominated him. Period. If any other POTUS had nominated him, be it an (R) or a (D), his confirmation would have flown thru with a 97-3 vote.
Some libs I know say, well, overall he appears to be a good judge, but if he gets on the SC "he will overturn Roe v. Wade." Really? He'll have that kind of power all by himself? He addressed that issue with his "it has precedent upon precedent" citing a SC case that upheld Roe as being Constitutional. Of course, I don't agree with that. It's total BS. But then I am not nominated for the SC.
It appears it all comes down to Roe. At least, that's what I am hearing, and it appears to be the ONE issue his detractors lean on. Well...as I've posted before...give it to 'em. It's mostly libs who have abortions anyway.
