Ross Douthat has said that the President should move on and withdraw Kavanaugh...that it's all tainted beyond repair. I think capitulating to that extent is not advisable, but I do wonder what the possible resolution is. An FBI probe is not going to clear anything up. There will still be a cloud as the dubious nature of the accusations will keep there from being anything more than a dubious investigation.

What do you think Guisslap? Is there anything that will appease the opposition to Kavanaugh?

But, I still question your knowledge of a "sworn statement" possibly being perjurous. It is.

Hey, BTW, I used the classic English version of the term "to perjure oneself." Wanted to spellcheck and learned that "perjurous" is British. Comes naturally to me. Did some research on the Irish side of the family and learned that my ancestors were Royal Scribes for the courts in England, Wales, Ireland, and Scotland.

Usually, you start by asking questions that you know the answer to. You have to do your background research.

While you can perjure yourself in a sworn statement, the type of statement he made carries no risk of perjury if he is not to be further examined.

This is all blowback from the Republicans stealing the seat that would have been Merrick Garland and Trump trying to pick someone who is pro-executive power.

If these allegations are to be taken seriously, we need to act on what we know and have a vote on Judge K. Ms. Ford can file a formal report with an agency who has jurisdiction and they can investigate. If nothing is found, she is punished for slander. If something is found, he is off the bench and goes to jail.
