I did not vote for Trump the first time around because I thought he was all mouth and no substance. I thought the Dems would have him in their corner by now and he, too, would govern against the wishes of those that elected him. I was wrong.

I don’t care about the left or their cause, but the right needs to clean up their act. The fact that 54% of Republicans think that Kavanaugh should be confirmed even if the allegations are true tells you what is wrong with this country.

And that also explains why the other Republicans need to believe he didn’t do it (even the Collins-type that will say they believe the victim except for the part that the victim is 100% sure of), because the very real possibility that he did doesn’t square very well with their desire to have him on the SC and/or to let the Dems win a partisan battle.

I don't think it is unreasonable to say that something like this that happened in high school should not disqualify someone for the Supreme court 30 years later.
Assuming the events happened as Dr. Ford said, sexual assault is a serious issue and should certainly be considered towards his character. People do change and they should be allowed to. If it happened he would need to convince people that the person he was in high school doesn't represent who he is now. This disregards potential perjury charges and the complete contradiction with the person he presented in the interview on Fox News (I haven't actually seen that interview). Factor in potential perjury and a false presentation of who he was in high school and I would say he shouldn't be allowed on the supreme court if the allegations are true. But give me a yes or no choice on this question I would consider saying yes.

If they are including all of the allegations (including the gang rape charges) then I'm with you. That is unacceptable and I don't know how you can justify it.

I don't know that we will ever know the truth on this. If the democrats don't take control and impeach I suppose this issue will die.

I think I covered that, but maybe it wasn't clear. I think you touched on it. If the allegations were true, the lying would be the more pressing issue because it happened as an adult and during the confirmation hearings and under oath.
