Nike had him under contract. They exercised that option. Kap's not a bad guy. Nike is an American success story. I'm sorry if the narrative doesn't fit your idea of how the world works. I doubt seriously if this is what Kaepernick had in mind when he chose to protest racial injustice. However, when compared with all the other golden boy busts we've witnessed in the last 20 years...this hiccup pales in comparison. I honestly don't understand the Kap and Nike haters.

That's the problem with what he did. He didn't know what he was doing. Based on the examples he used he was protesting something that did not happen. The stats show his "cause" was bogus.

While we're on the subject. Screw Michael Bennett. He's just an all around jerk.

Other players and entire teams showed unity in their protest of racial injustice. He was a young, up-and-coming...and yes, naive...player. However, the situation fits in perfectly with Nike's decade's long successful marketing strategy. What do you want to hate on?!!! Kap's a clean, blue chip athlete who took a stance for something that bothered him. He didn't punch a girl in the face or take free-bee's from an admiring fan. He took a kneel to protest racial injustice. Racial injustice is real. Do you dispute it?

Meh...aside from you...this board rocks. Unless La Tech descends back to the ranks of the D2...FCS...level...unlikely.

I don’t hate him, except when he was at Nevada. However, I don’t believe his motives had anything to do with any injustice, but more to do with keeping his name out there. And you don’t know enough about me to know about my ideas of how I think the world works.

When did I? When I state stats I used stats that have a sizable sample, not some knee jerk sampling that CNN pollsters take at the front door of a 90% democrat precinct.

He was protesting after recent events that put police in a bad light. Not white police, but police in general. The examples he used proved to be bogus. Do you dispute that? Please give me examples of the "racial injustice" you perceived him to be supporting. His protest was a general "cops profile young black males which is a bad thing". The problem is not that simple unless a person is not capable of being able to reason. Racial profiling does not = hate.
