My thoughts from the game. J’Mar stared down receivers and threw it as hard as he could. No touch at all. Receives let the ball get into their pads instead of catching with their hands. Several drops. I could throw for 300 against our defense. A good team would put 70 on Southern in 3 quarters. We have a long way to go until we are among the top 5-6 teams in CUSA.

Jack Abraham was 31 of 46 (67.4%) for 378 yds, 2 TD's and 2 INT's. IN HIS 2ND START!!!

That's another incredible performance for a QB that's never played a down of college football until last week. Abraham will get better. You gotta remember too, he's on a BAD football team. USM lost all their RB's and receivers, etc...last year. I'm sure Abraham is overcompensating a bit due to USM's lack of talent.

Smith had a good night tonight. 24/37 for 380 yards and 2 TD, 5 rushes for 54 yards and 1 TD. He still stares down receivers at times, but his poise under pressure was much better tonight. Plus he had a couple of balls that should have been easy catches dropped, one for a TD.

Why in the hell would Dancy "fair catch" the kick after the safety when he was catching the ball at the 25-yd line anyway? Dancy could have easily returned it to the 35. Maybe the 40.

And if you're suggesting that Holtz called the fair catch at the 25, then okay. It was STILL a stupid decision.
At some point Holtz needs to be teaching these kids to make smart plays. Purposely having them make dumb plays doesn't advance the football IQ.
