Arkansas' problem was their inexperienced, young QBs. They tried 3 of them and all of them failed. True Soph Kelley threw 4 INTs, True FR Noland threw 1 INT, and True FR Jones threw 1 INT. That's 6 giveaways and not one QB threw a TD pass.
UNT's veteran Junior QB Fine only had to throw 1 TD vs 0 INTs for the 44-17 blowout win.
Arkansas' QBs will get better with time, but Morris likely won't be at Arkansas when they do.
A couple of more appearances like yesterday, and Chad Morris will be run out of Fayetteville, even if it is his first year. Yeah, he has QB problems, but at least half of those INT's came long AFTER UNT was dominating the game. UNT beat Arkansas at every position. With that much SEC talent on the field wearing red, Morris and his Razorbacks have no excuse for not putting up a better fight.
That was UNT's first win vs an SEC team since the end of the Vietnam War- 1975.
Unless Arkansas wants a legacy hire they wouldn't hire Skip. No conference championship at his last two schools. Not too mention, he was a disaster the last time he coached in a major conference. And, why wouldn't Arkansas just hire Neal Brown? I am not even sure if Brown would come here. I am sure he has Power 5 aspirations.
Saints are about to prove that dropping 8 into coverage will get you beat every time.
Akron beat a Big Ten team for the first time since '94 - 1894
And Rutgers (B1G) got run off the field by that powerhouse Kansas. Talk about a team invited to a conference because of the market.
They said 4.4, but that's not the point...
Did the Saints call Skip Holtz for special teams advice? Think about how crazy it is to have your back up QB returning kicks which is THE most dangerous job in football. They cut Scott, but they use the back up QB as a KO returner...yep sounds like something Skip would do.
I used to think that what Brees lacked in physical ability, he more than made up for in his "thinking" capacity. But, watching some of his decisions in recent years, I am beginning to doubt that. Payton too.
I like that Hill kid, he's a gamer. I think it's past time to game plan him some series. The change of pace of styles would offer a lot for opposing DCs to plan for.
