I was there too and definitely had some raindrops hitting me. It wasn't major, but people broke out ponchos. I remember thinking I wish I had prepared and brought my rain jacket. Turns out it was fine.

The clouds before the game looked really ominous though and the warmups were delayed due to lightning. Hard to pretend it was just a beautiful sunshiny day in tiger stadium.

I don't think anybody pretended that happened. What they (I) pointed out was that just because over 100K+ were announced does not mean that actually happened. I'm guessing well under 70K and I've heard much smaller stadiums make more noise.

    Under 70K at the max?

70% is not far off. It was less than 50% after half

That I can probably agree with. They ditched at half. I was going more at least 80% at peak. But I couldnt really see above/behind me. I know there were some empty seats really high up.

I definitely agree with that. The stands on the LSU side were sparse from the very beginning. They may have been sold out, but it was certainly not 100k in the stadium. 70-80% at it's peak is a good guess.

    You don't remember well.[/QUOTE]

No argument there as sometimes I am fortunate to remember how to get home. Seriously though, when did we have our conference or neutral officials against an SEC foe?

I visited for 45 minutes or so with Rusty Mabry yesterday as he is a subcontractor for the construction on Julia and the other main street (see what I mean about my memory) in our hometown. I can't believe the State is finally doing some work here. According to Rusty the work is actually going to be done properly instead of half assed.

Only once. After having problems beginning in 1991 with SEC crews, we arranged for a split crew for the 1997 game at Alabama. We were using CUSA officials at the time. We had a split crew of SEC/CUSA. There were almost no penalties called in the game.
