Halftime: Tech 24, LSU 13
Final: Tech 27, LSU 30
Another South Carolina game.
If my memory serves me correctly, Tech has historically struggled the most with the P5 teams that had really good offenses. On the other hand, if the opponent didn't have an elite offense, we have been able to stay in the game and play close into the 4th quarter. I think we have a pretty good defense this year but LSU's is obviously better. Here's the question--I wonder if our offense is significantly better than LSU's? It's possible. Because of that possibility, I think this could be close and could turn on a few key plays.
If LSU's lack of ability to sustain drives causes them to take abnormal risks, we can win the game. In that case, they might become increasingly desperate and attempt high risk plays (resulting in turnovers and/or incompletions). I mention this possibility because I believe our offense is better than they anticipate. I think we will sustain some drives and score some points. Now, if they can consistently sustain drives with what they're comfortable doing, we'll take the "L".
So, my key to the game--Tech's offense vs LSU's offense.
If they can sustain drives: LSU 31/LaTech 13
If they can't sustain drives: LaTech 24/LSU 21
Have you considered those Dogs?
The key to the game is Amik and company generating turnovers and having just average play out of special teams.
All good points. One of the take-aways I got from Orgeron's presser this week was THIS comment:
"We used our big receivers last week for the first time, and I'm really pleased. We want to take more shots down field. We'd like 2 per quarter." - Ed Orgeron
Sometimes people will tell you what they are going to do, if you just ASK 'EM.
So LSU has that Giles guy from Texas Tech, the same one who torched us hooking up with Patrick Mahomes in '16. BTW, I said after our game vs. T-X Tech that Mahomes was the best "NFL" QB in CFB. I think the KC Chiefs are pleased with him.
Fortunately for us, this go-around, Joe Burreaux is no Patrick Mahomes and our secondary is better.
Scattered thunderstorms force a cancellation we emerge undefeated!
Imo I think Baker has proven to be able to plan well enough for “ok” SEC offenses of Arkansas and South Carolina. Im not sure on LSU yet, I read that 36% of their points are off getting turnovers this year. So short field or defensive scores. Take care of the ball!
We need the Frisco defense to show up. TWO pick-6's seals the deal!
