There it is. Now, 6,301 career completions. All-time NFL record.
Must be SEC refs at the Saints game too. We're getting the business from the refs!
More than double the penalty yards of the dirty birds. It’d be nice if we could cover a deep man...or like 1/5 deep men.
Saints win in OT 43-37.
How 'bout Drew's two rushing TDs! That first one was a gem!
A great win!!
The defense should ashamed of themselves!
Brees is uber accurate. Not only throwing catchable passes but putting them EXACTLY where needed.
On another note, CBS didn't switch to the Saints on KNOE until midway through the 2nd Q due to the OT game between Indy/Texas which they switched to following the early conclusion of Lions/Cowboys. I would have thought they would have gone to the DH games on time, at least in the Saints primary viewing area. Also, I wonder why this NFC game is on CBS.
On the network question, I heard it discussed last year that each network can buy broadcast rights from the one owning the rights to the conference. FOX Sports has the contract for the NFC, CBS for the AFC, but they can buy/sell rights to individual games.
As for the game, kudos to the Giants' defense. They took a page from my defensive playbook when you're facing a QB who is not a running threat. Although Brees will occasionally run...ask the Dirty Birds...he's hardly a big threat. As such forget him and defend with 11.
Same thing applies to Tech because of Smith. However....Brees can beat you with his pinpoint accuracy and his savvy field awareness.
Anyone think it was by design that Brees' numbers weren't as good in this game? He can break another record next Monday in the Dome. Defense played this one!
The bad news for the rest of the league is that Ingram is back next week. 3-1 without him is quite an accomplishment.
