TX Tech has made a game of it, 35-27 now.
They don't need him with their schedule. Any high school QB will be okay.

South Alabama is getting their clock cleaned by App State.

Either we played way above our level in the LSU game, or way below it in the SA game. I just cannot figure it out yet.

ODU 27 ECU 28 3rd qtr Monarchs hanging tough

Rice 17 Wake 56 3rd qtr Owls not so tough

USM 3 Auburn 14 2nd qtr lightning delay (can you imagine bad weather for a USM game, that never happens!)
In that game Griggs has made an appearance, so I suppose if he can do anything, poor ole Jack A. will be relegated back to the clipboard

I didn’t realize that Penn State had 98,000 students and Ohio State has 66,000. Kinda waters down their football attendance numbers.

    Re: Week 5

Nice come back by MTSU and a gutsy call to go for the win like that.

The Lane Train has jumped the tracks. But, they are still a very dangerous team.

I watched a good bit of USM-Auburn, what with the long weather delays. Jack Abraham looked good at times. You can see he knows what a QB is supposed to do, he has the right instincts and field awareness. But, he's too small, his arm too weak, for this level of big time college football. Several times the speedy and very athletic Auburn DBs recovered and made a play because the pass lacked enough zip. But, he is good, and will only get better with more playing time.

Overall....CUSA is a mess! It's up for grabs! The only thing we do know is that some teams absolutely, embarrassingly suck! Like UTEP and Rice, for instance. Most of the league is weak to mediocre and no one, not a single team, has separated itself from the rest. In the east Marshall appears to have stepped to the front, as their huge win at WKU attests. But, Marshall still has MTSU and FAU, both at home. Win those and they will cement themselves into the CG. In the west, we have stepped to the front after last night, and like Marshall, get to host another contender, UAB.

But, in the big picture, honestly, being CUSA champion is like being the tallest midget in the room. This conference sucks!

Don’t you remember HCSH apologizing for our backup QB scoring the last TD against SA?

That was against Southern, not South Alabama.

.....Well, being the tallest midget, is certainly better than being one of the shortest ones.

An interesting side note. Jalen Hurts played in his 5th game this season. No redshirt season for him this year.

I happened to have that game on when Hurts made his first appearance in the game. The Bama crowd went nuts since it squashed the rumor he was leaving.
