Is Jimbo right for grabbing face mask?
I think he handled this situation properly. He didn’t shove the kid. I am sure the player was caught off guard and stepped backwards. The player came out in full support of his coach. He will get blasted in the media, but that is expected.

The player prob didn't feel much wearing the headgear.

Oh my Gosh!!! The Coach might have hurt his feelings!!! All players should remain happy at all times and not feel any pressure to perform the way the coach expects them to perform.
ESPN these days has to try to support their left wing talk shows and use these instances to create issues that aren't there.

One of my football coaches would grab your face mask, pull it up so you were looking straight up at him, and step on your foot at the same time. He got my attention this way many a time! I don't recall anyone go crying to mama or someone that he had his feelings hurt!

Yep! our coaches, all the way back to Pop Warner, 5th grade, would grab facemasks. They didn't hurt ya, nor were they trying to. It was an attention-getter. It worked....the coach had your attention!

Under the circumstances, he needed to get the kid's attention to keep him from getting thrown out of the game for throwing a punch or something else stupid. It looked to me like he just put his hand on the facemask to get his attention. Not a big deal. That was his top player on defense.
