Most will remember the situation at USM a few years back when they hired a new coach who lost all games his first season. They were able to cover his buyout, over $2mil, by manipulating their schedule. They had Nebraska set as a home game but instead of playing it in Hattiesburg agreed to move it to Nebraska who paid them a cool two million which they used to send that coach on his way. I looked over our situation and cant see any arrangement we could make like that thus everyone needs to get accustomed to where we are at unless some donor or donors ponies up the money, we just dont have it.
This situation would never be allowed to occur, because 1) TMac can't get good opponents here and 2) if he lucked into something, he'd let them charge *us* to move it.

Lets be fair to TMac. He isnt the only AD that was unable to bring good opponents. Dooley is the only one who ever arranged for an SEC team to show up and that one, Ms State, does not bring notoriety when discussing millions.
Who arranged for Ms State last year? I know it was a two for one, but facts are facts. I guess it was Oakes that got Miami to Shreveport and the original Aggie game there. The highest ranked opponents we have played in Ruston have been from the old WAC -- Fresno State and maybe Hawaii. Being in a good conference helps. Except for the traveling the WAC was by far the best conference we have been in.

Hell no to Skip as AD. Skip wants to micromanage everything. He wouldn’t hire a coach that wouldn’t do what he told them. Skip is hard-headed and inflexible. And he is satisfied with mediocrity.
UCF fans warned us - we didn’t listen and now we are getting exactly what they said about holtz 6 years ago.
Yes but our fear at the time of hire was that their prediction would start immediately. It did but he turned it around in year two.
I was hoping last year was the new low and this year would restart an upward trend, but no.
