But, they barely hold a majority in the House, and many of the newly elected reps are not far-left wackos (some are, yes), and they won in "purple" districts, so they know their re-elections, in two short years, hang in the balance. Meaning Pelosi and her fellow lefty creeps don't have the power they want/need in the House, and they won't have 100% support from the Dems. Then of course, the Senate will NOT support new legislation coming from the House, and Trump holds the ultimate power....the veto pen. So! the next two years will really be stalemate, so any present laws, rules, policies are likely locked in. It'll be status quo. Make that status quo as pro-American as possible.

But, that all makes too much sense, and the GOP can't organize a good bar-b-cue let along enact such a legislative strategy.
    You nailed it

If repubs were capable of accomplishing this, they would not be looking at a Speaker Pelosi this morning.

If you look at historical mid-term data, this house flip was pretty minimal. Further, the first two years of Trump's presidency have not been legislation heavy. The budget? That's about all I can come up with. I guess what I'm saying is that the way Trump operates will not be greatly hindered by losing the house. Further, Pelosi is likely to seal Trump's reelection just by operating the way she always operates.

I know that there is contention between Democrats as to who the next Speaker of House should be. Republicans should give all of their support to Pelosi to make her speaker again. Her approval rating is almost in single digits. I honestly feel sorry for her because I truly believe she has health issues and is possibly suffering from dementia or alzheimers.

Pelosi should retire. AFTER the next two years. As Speaker she greatly helps Trump's reelection chances.

Going to be interesting to see the path forward the dems choose.

Trump is a great compromiser, and will take the best available deal he can get. This means the dems have real power here, because Trump is not an ideologue at all (he is not really concerned about the "repub" brand either). If the dems actually have an agenda besides hating Trump, they are likely to be rather successful over the next two years. Heck, they can even work with him on health care, and he will push the senate to get in line.

If, however, they decide their only reason for existence is to make demands (as if they hold all levels of government) and create instability for the president, I suspect Trump will roll up the carpet and give them NOTHING.

We shall see what they choose. My guess is nothing is going to get done, and they will be rejected in two years. The supreme court hearings showed how out of touch they really are.

RGB apparently had a fall last night and broke 3 ribs and is hospitalized. Also think she has some additional health issues too. People are volunteering their ribs and organs to get her back on her feet. If Trump has to replace her, I think half of the country will lose it.

Word on the street says she is frozen in carbonite until the next vote.

    Re: Midterms 2018

People all over the country received mailed ballots from Broward County, Florida. You might think, as I did, well, that must be absentee ballots, and some were. But two people have come forward stating they have never lived in Broward County and, to their knowledge, were never registered to vote there. Both are registered democraps where they do live, and both have submitted donations to democrap candidates and to the DNC. Nothing wrong with either of those. Well, nothing wrong legally, but do have to question their decision making! So, it appears someone in Broward County took it upon themselves to solicit illegal votes from dems across the country. At this point we don't know how many such illegal ballots were completed and mailed back and are now a part of the overall count. It's under investigation.

Dems doing what they do best...cheating and committing voter fraud!

This cycle, thus far, no such blatant cheating has been detected in three of the past biggest violators' states: Illinois, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. There have been cases of horrendous voter fraud by the Dems in isolated precincts in those states before. This year, thus far, it appears the fraud is limited to Arizona, Texas, and of course Florida.

Interesting that the Republicans ran Flake off and now the seat will be taken by a Democrat.
