You want to blame other players.

As others have rightfully pointed out, balls thrown at our WR's feet, and marginally behind a running receiver are still considered a "drop" by our WR as long as he touches it. God help us if J'Mar ever hits one of our WR's ON THE RUN, like he's supposed to. Do you realize how seldom THAT has happened in 2018? He won't even throw the slant pass (because the receiver is running). He's seems to be only comfortable throwing the "button-hook", or some other such pass that has our WR standing still at the time of reception. J'Mar appears to not be comfortable throwing to receivers on the run.

The mere fact that LA Tech has the 2nd most drops in the country should tell you all you need to know about J'Mar's delivery.

As for our OL, the New Orleans Saints OL would have a hard time blocking for J'Mar, because he's so indecisive, and holds the ball too long. You've heard the stories; you know he zeroes in on one receiver and waits, and waits, and waits until that receiver gets open, or he throws the ball away. That's the biggest distinction between J'Mar's release, and our recently successful QB's (Colby, Driskel, Sokol, & Higgins). Even Tim Ratty (1997-99) made an art out of getting rid of the ball quickly. But not J'Mar. He just doesn't have faith that he can throw "on pattern" and his WR will be open. So he frequently holds the ball too long and misses the open window.

The toughest job in America might be OL for a QB like J'Mar.
The UNT game is the only game I got a good look at the offense. I felt bad for our WRs because they were so exposed to kill shots by the defense for the majority of passes. The WRs have to feel like tackling dummies every time the ball comes their way. And then there are the circus catches these WRs must make - catching a pass while slidling like your breaking up a double-play at 2nd base. I was impressed by the OL in the UNT game. On the radio, you hear something "The Dogs have an empty backfield. Here's the snap. JMar is sacked." It sounds like he gets no time at all. But at UNT, I saw JMar stand long enough to go flat footed. He was in NO WAY prepared to move when protection finally broke down. And all the while, JMar was watching and waiting on his chosen target to get open. We got a few pass interference calls because the UNT DBs ran into our WRs who were trying to come back for the ball. Had the DBs looked back, we wouldn't have gotten the calls, which kept a couple of drives alive because of automatic first downs.

Couldn’t you have subbed J’Mar at this time?
Subbing JMar in garbage time could wind up being proof positive the substitution should have occurred three quarter (maybe three games) earlier. How bizarre would it be for the sub to come in in garbage time and move the offense more effectively.

See Aaron Allen in Southern game. Proves your point. He got on Skips bad side for throwing that last TD pass.

From what I saw and read, Skip was not pleased we ran ran the score up. On the other hand who did call the play?

Go back to the Southern Game thread and about pages 15-18 are several comments on Skips reaction etc to the Allen TD pass. I saw it on TV and he didn't look pleased. He didn't go over and say "way to go" or pat him on the butt.

I bet on NT --felt comfortable after LSU game lost on UAB but doubled down on UTSA -- nice thing about being Sunshine Pumper is not betting against our Bulldogs and avoiding negative thoughts-- read the pre UTSA game thread at all the "loser talk-fire Holtz etc crud. we are in top 4 CUSA offense and defense and Jmar #4 qb out of 16 --

before game we talked with a lot of UTSA fans and they want to be at our level 1 day ---TICKETS FOR GAME WERE FREE AT PIZZA HUT --

The problem you have D65 is you have a "whole pie" view of this. It's very simplistic, actually.

You said the Dawgs would go 10-2....and I still hope you're right....I said we would go 7-5. (I kind of hope I'm right too, since it could be 6-6 or worse). The funny thing is what is separating the Dawgs at 7-5 from the Dawgs at 10-2 are the two factors you defend vehemently: Holtz & Smith.

For some reason when someone criticizes Holtz & Smith....and by "criticizes" I mean the true definition of "critical analysis," you dig in and say, well! if you don't think Holtz & Smith are good you automatically think the Dawgs aren't good. No...we slice the pie into pieces. There's the offense, and the key position of QB, there's the defense, special teams, the head coach, coordinators, coaches, etc...

Then there's Holtz & Smith themselves. When one does a true critical analysis of each, one find flaws....glaring, HUGE flaws!

This team is 4-2, heading to 7-5, and whatever success one assigns to that is because the team, as a whole, is performing good enough, and covering the flaws of Holtz & Smith.

I will always be a Tech man 100%. That won’t ever change. That doesn’t keep me from seeing the obvious though. If you look at the NFL talent that we’ve pumped out of this school over the last 6 years, and then look at what’s been done with it, it’s pretty eye opening. I’ve posted this before, but it’s worth repeating. In 2015, we had Driskel, a 5 star QB and NFL player behind center. Paul Turner, Carlos Henderson and Trent Taylor at the WR position. All of them NFL players. Kenneth Dixon and Boston Scott in at RB, both NFL players, and Dixon being one of the best we’ve ever had. On defense we had Vernon Butler, remember him? Oh, and X-Man @ corner, both NFL players. I’m sure I’m missing somebody. How many other teams in this league can boast of being THAT LOADED? We still crapped the bed...at home, and lost the championship to a lesser team. If Holtz can’t win in this league with that kind of talent, I don’t think he ever will. You can call me a hater or whatever in the H-E double hockey sticks you want to call me, but the facts don’t lie.

Is there another team in CUSA that produces that much NFL talent? There’s a lot of P5 schools that don’t have that!!

We only have that much NFL talent because our S&C coach is so great. Several of our fans have a crush on him even if he doesn't give a crap about EllAye Tech.

And lest we forget our NFL caliber RB wasn’t even allowed to be the starter in his senior year because it might hurt someone’s feelings.
