Correct solution. No need for them, just entertainment for the kids. Im not against them, but if you want to keep it from happening again- A: don’t lose a gimme, and B: dont have them in the first place. Can’t fault them for going through with it.

I'll also add that I honestly have no idea what they were spelling to this day. I used Louisiana because that makes more sense. My memory is closer to:

1. This is absolutely one of the most embarrassing things we do, especially if you bring guest. I cannot adequately put it into words how embarrassing it is.

2. You would have to have a full stadium to get any good out of this at all, for the most part a full HIGH SCHOOL Stadium for it to work.

3. A Non-Elmer Fudd sounding voice would be nice. (Not trying to be cruel here, just a fact)

No voice could make it cool. Just stop doing it. It is lame. Don't try to invent a new tradition either.

When I went to Starkville a couple of years ago, I appreciated their "Hail!" "State!" crowd chant performed similar to how we sometimes attempt to volley "We are!" "Bulldogs!" back and forth (which is a lame imitation of Marshall imo). I think "Ever!" "Loyal!" could be a somewhat unique replacement? Maybe not, but surely somebody can figure out a non-humiliating chant that doesn't include a spell out.

Especially when there is no set number on how many times you say it. Our people try anywere from 10 to 15 times....or until it finally dies out. What a great cheer!

Definitely not that one either, they do that one all the time and again there is a rhythm to it. I have been to probably 30 games since then and I don't think I have heard it again. It's driving me nuts that no one on here remembers that. It would have been probably in 01 or 02.

Remember when Robken gave the fans a cheering lesson before the first home game one year? Introduced some new stuff. I think that's what he is talking about. It was BAD...like 300 bad. It took forever to get through it.
