That article says Ferguson had 3 sacks Saturday. I thought he had 4? I counted 4 myself.

He was in on four, so it must have been officially counted as two solo sacks and two half-sacks. At worst I thought it was three solos and a half.

Not because I want to see The GREAT ONE's Walter Johnson's record broken, per se, but because we NEED the defense to step up big with a lousy QB, and Ferguson being a beast and getting 20 more sacks this year, would help win games!

Walter Johnson went to Ferriday High. My Dad was the sports editor for the Concordia Sentinel at the time. He went to every game Walter played and told me of his greatness even in high school. He would get flagged for offsides because he was that quick off the line, and it would fool the refs to thinking he must have jumped off sides to get in the backfield that quick!

We'll see if UAB is fortunate to get a win this week, and they play at UTEP.

The point is there was and is no competition for the job. It was made clear who the starter would be and that he is a rock star. Who in their right mind would sit quietly and patiently behind the shit show we have at QB1? I would transfer too.

We can't know that for sure. Most Tech fans thought Smith was a rock star after his 2016 season (some even calling for him to start over Higgins... ). But we found out very shortly into 2017 that he had some growing to do. Abraham would have probably got some significant time in 2017, imo... could be wrong though. We'll never know because he was already at a Juco.

Why would Abraham sign with USM as their #3 QB if he transferred from Tech as the #2 QB? He didn't go to a place that he would be guaranteed to start, he went somewhere where he would be happy.
