It definitely does. Add to that, we are missing the one position that we usually have, QB. Just in this decade alone we’ve had Cameron, Sokol, Driskel, and Higgins. This should have been Smith’s year to blow up the record books in a good way. He’s been in the system now for years, he started all of last year and played several downs with one complete game the year before that. You can’t tell it by watching the offense though.

This group is pretty good and has good depth, but 97-99 had some really good groups. And the 2012 team would be hard to top.

Veals done his share of third and 9 . Both are solid -- Bonette remind me of Henderson, lot of speed and talent but injury prone

All our receivers are "injury prone". It would help if they didn't have to do acrobatics to catch a routine pass

Ehhhhhh. I think the Taylor/Henderson combo was much better than the Veal/Bonette/Hardy trio. Don't forget Paul Turner played with Taylor/Henderson too. Patton/White were the real deal too. I give you the depth thing but it's only one more "really good" receiver. Those guys were a TD threat every time they touched the ball. I don't see the same explosiveness with this group. They are very good though.

Indeed, today's trio of Veal/Bonnette/Hardy are very good and talented possession receivers. IMO they are very different from the Taylor/Henderson duo in that they can make the tougher "circus" possession catches (see Bonnette vs UNT, Veal and Hardy vs FAU) but they aren't as likely to take it to the house instantly, like Taylor/Henderson were.

I’m partial to Edwards/Cangelosi/Jordan/Daigre with Bobby Ray Tell & John Simon in the backfield.

Fall of 73. Carr, Rypkin, Barber & Tilley. All played at the next level. (3 were starters in nfl). McDanial and Harper catching stuff from the backfield. I think Moody was in that team in the backfield too. Doesn’t get any better than that.

They aren’t as consistent either as TT. He did have fumbleitis on occasion, but he caught everything in sight and never took a play off or run a bad route.
