Basketball Season Begins Tonight - Any BB news?

Exhibition game tonight and we play Wichita State Tuesday. I watched the Wichita State exhibition game the other night. They have a lot of size and a lot of talent. However, with all their freshmen, they appeared disorganized and struggled against a Division 2 school. The game was sold out (10,000+) so I am sure the freshmen were a bit overwhelmed. Hope they stay that way for our game. I do think we will have an issue with their size. They have a seven footer, a 6'11", a 6'9" and a few 6"8" guys. Their guards have length, are quick and athletic. We have overall more experience.

This will be the first time in 5 years I've missed the first home game/exhibition game. Just bad timing for me I've seen parts of 3 practices and overall liked what I saw all three times. Pretty hopeful for a good season this year.

My guess is they saw my comment here a few days ago that perhaps this is our year to shock folks and win the tournament. My quotes get picked up nationally on a regular basis.

I'm trying not to let my bad attitude from football bleed over into basketball yet. What I know is that gameday experience has been declining (because FB and MBB answer to the same clueless boss), that our schedule is not only bad but insulting to anyone who chooses to spend money on it, and that every year, we've been saying "This is finally the year!" even when we had arguably good teams.

So right now I don't have bad expectations - I just don't have any at all. We have a dozen exhibition games to open the season. We won't have a clue what kind of team we have until we see whether Judy needs to get involved to help us lose to UAB. That's the true measure of any CUSA team.

Amen brother. We have a pussy AD, a pussy coach and the most pussified schedule EVER... but we have 2 or 3 studs that may be able to overcome our clear and obvious shortcomings. But an at large? Regardless of what milk toast proclaims, UNBELIEVABLY, is out of the question. I can’t believe the guy can spout that crap with a straight face. Whatever little cred he had is GONE BABY GONE.

IF i saw a little bit of passion and a commitment to a serious schedule I would hop on board immediately. As of now... I have probably been one of the most passionate Men’s BB supporters for the past 50 years, but this crew has finally beat me down.

Love me some Maryland guys, but let’s hope those 2 inmates take over the asylum.
