    CUSA Basketball

It feels like CUSA is getting off to a little better start this year compared to the last couple of years with a few good non-conference wins. CUSA is 3-0 verses AAC. Tech over Wichita St., Southern Miss over SMU, FAU over UCF. Charlotte also has a good win over Ok. St.

Agreed. It is a shame that CUSA doesn’t enforce some stick no bullshit scheduling clause across the board... Then again, we would be the first called on the carpet.

You are right we would get crushed with any type of specific scheduling mandates. Quick question, I know it as been discussed in past years, but who makes the schedule in basketball? Is it like football and the AD does it, or do the coaches have more say in basketball?

MBB - Coaches make the schedule based on the money our AD does not give them.

Football - Our AD has been asked so many embarrassing questions about our scheduling that he finally started telling boosters that his underling(s) actually do the scheduling. I know some of his gullible "money people" read this board. Maybe they will take up for him here like they do when defending him at various Tech events.

I thought the coaches had a hand in it, so a weak schedule could be a combination of the coach and or the AD. In our case it seems to be a function of our coaches hands being tied financially.

What is TMAC doing if he isn't even actually negotiating the schedule for football? Wait never mind wrong forum....

Yes, that's always been the case. Our coach (not coaches) is limited on what he can do.

If by coaches you are including WBB, that sport is not relevant when discussing potential revenue.

In basketball the coach is given a guarantee amount he has to "earn" in OOC games to fund the program, then he has to piece together what he can for scraps

Which is usually one - 3 game tourney (usually with no help from the conference or AD), two alternating home and homes (USL and SHIT) and then scrambles for the rest with about $5,00 to $7,500 in buy money

I'm for scheduling one more alternating home and home (UALR, ULM or NWST) and another guarantee game - (TCU, Tulane, TTech, Ole Miss)

If we are going to play a Division II or NAIA play Centenary and give them $3,000
