Not much the state of California can do when fires start on federal lands. With the super dry conditions and 35 mph winds, the fires jump roads and from building to building.
Anyway, for the rest of you, I can tell you that with proper forest management on ALL lands out west, such catastrophic fires can be greatly reduced.
