I want you to go on record here saying you support green deal, end of private gun ownership, universal health care, and elimination of private 401K..

I don't know what the load factors were for each of the airlines... you can look it up. Each major airline is fighting to survive right now.. Warren Buffett expects one of the major US carriers to not survive this.

I did at one time and my recollection is that American was running at lowest loads.

The alternative is to have those that pay for health insurance subsidize those that don’t, and that just seems less fair.

The green deal is a bit too much, but green is the future and we should make infrastructure investments accordingly.
Single payer, government run health care will be more expensive and will end up lowering the quality of the health care and will cost more, (for working Americans), especially with unbridled emigration with their free health care. This will do to health care what more government has done to the education system.

Immigrants get free health care in the current system thanks to Reagan. The “ER first” system is not a good one either.

That's on the way anyway. Trump had two years with GOP control of the house and the senate and he did nada. Blame McCain if you want, but there was no replacement to Obamacare proposed. Why? Because Trump wants pre-ex coverage.

And I will add this - private health insurance is a mess. I am an attorney and find it way too difficult to comparison shop policies and use the medical system cost effectively. As a consumer it shouldn’t be this hard.

If you were doing anything other than an HSA you are a dumb ass. It’s not complicated at all. Maybe you should use your engineering degree instead of your law degree To you think with

Employer doesn’t offer a policy with high enough deductible for HSA.

that’s not the way it works. Never heard of a large employer not offering an HSA. It’s beneficial to the employer

Not all health plans are eligible for HSA.

But that is further evidence of the unnecessary complexity. Most people don’t know about HSAs or why you would want one. You have to remember that the average American is not as smart or as experienced as you with these sort of things.

All plans are eligible for an HSA if the employer elects to offer it. It’s not complex at all. Unless you have a chronic illness in the family you take the cheapest plan. If you can do math you take the HSA

ConocoPhillips had that as an option when I was working for them and I jumped on it. I think the annual deductible was 4K, but the premiums were way cheaper than a traditional HMO plan, and they also seeded my HSA account with 2K to start with. It was a no brainer.
