I was just wondering where all those dems were in the midterms who were bashing Roy Moore in Alabama during the special election.
Oh yeah...they were contributing to the Menendez campaign in Jersey.
Democrats want the rich to pay their "fair share" of taxes. So Trump, as part of his tax cut, capped the deduction on state and local taxes to $10,000. That hit a lot of rich people, especially Democrats, making them pay more taxes. Right out the gate, Democrats, spearheaded by New Jersey reps, have already proposed repealing the cap and reinstating the full deduction so that their rich donors don't have to pay so much in taxes.
In trying to point out Americans are leaving, they showed it's not Americans.
They aren't going in giant waves or caravans. And they aren't fleeing a bad situation or place.
And he is a loon.
And I get the general feeling from my Canadian acquaintances that Canada has a need for increased immigrants.
Maybe you don’t know this, but New Jersey is one of the most tax heavy states in the country. And it just isn’t their state income tax - it is across the board. The tax code rewrite disporportionately hits states like New Jersey. A good portion of the middle class in NJ pay over 10k in state taxes.
The tax windfall to the rich in the Trump plan was the cut in corporate taxes. Rich people make their money differently than the middle class. If you look at the trend over the past 30 years, an ever increasing share of profits are going to owners rather than workers. Wages are not keeping up with gains in productivity and that is one of the main forces that is driving the widening of the rich-poor gap, and the frustration that fed Trump’s rise to power.
Leftist misinformation
You can't define "rich". It is a buzz word used by socialists. Middle class people own businesses as well and they are the backbone of MAGA. I know it's difficult to grasp, but they do. You ignore the fact that owners actually take the risks and own the businesses. Therefore they get to take the profits and use them the way they want. That includes a nice lifestyle, reinvesting in the business, and bonuses to valuable employees. All three have and are still happening with the tax cuts.
Unless you've ever actually taken the risk and owned a business you would not understand the above. You obviously favor government regulations and higher taxes. Check out your voting block. See how many jobs they create outside of the government.
"I've made the central focus of what I've been out talking about the fact that 90 percent of American workers don't own their own business. They're actually working for businesses and that Republicans better have a message that appeals to their place in the world today and their opportunity to rise in society," Santorum said on CBS’s Face the Nation on April 5, 2015.
What percentage of the “rich” do you think are business owners? I am going to guess that most of them aren’t working for others businesses.
Again, you can't define "rich". It is a convenient term to incite class warfare. Ironically, you'd fall into the "rich" category used by your own socialist views based on income and life style.
Nobody said the "rich" don't own the majority of the businesses, but you are ignoring the fact that your sliding scale for "rich" eliminates small business owners only when it is convenient. Those small business owners are at or below what is likely your own income and I don't believe your sliding scale of "rich" includes yourself or your income peers.
