What a shame that Louisiana and Squire Creek can't produce a golfer worthy of a scholarship at EllAyeTech.
North Louisiana has produced several golfers worthy of a scholarship at Tech. Unfortunately, they've been some of the top juniors in the world and have elected to go to LSU instead of staying home in North Louisiana. Tech golf is in the same position that Tech basketball has been in. The kids that want to come play golf in-state aren't quite good enough, and the ones we want to get have bigger offers.

Who are they and where are they going to play? I try to keep up with the Louisiana prep golf scene, and I'm not aware of any kids that we are ignoring. Carter Toms should be playing golf at Tech, but he's an LSU legacy and chose to go there and possibly never be a part of their varsity program.

We have kids at USM and UNO that should have been dawgs. I blame the coaching change that...not the past or current coach...just bad timing.
The 2022 class should be talent rich for Tech in North LA.
We have a kid in Alexandria that has Tech written all over him - great kid, loves golf and hungry for a D1 chance.
We just got a verbal from a top player from Alabama. That gives us a 19 commit and a 20 verbal from a top ten junior golf state.
I say that is good work so far. We will make inroads in state at some point soon.
UL-M getting a first class golf facility on campus by the baseball stadium. It will have meeting areas, locker room, putting area with SAM lab, indoor open and closed hitting bays with trackman, indoor / outdoor areas separately heated and cooled and will have industrial overhead heaters for winter months
Will have a full driving range and outdoor putting area.
Once finished, the facility will be 2nd or 3rd best facility in the stage with only the 265 facility ahead of it and possibly the LSU facility.
ULM is going what most P5 schools have or are doing - building an on campus facility for their student athletes...and not at the mercy of host clubs for practice facilities and tee times.
The Patel kid from Central LA.
Why is anyone or LA putting money into a second rate JUCO?
Tech beat ULM at Squire Creek this morning.
Tech had the early lead against ULM in Monroe this afternoon but ULM was making a push at the end. Could not stay to watch but it sounded like Tech needed a couple more under par rounds to keep pace.
Both teams have some high quality international players.
