As well it should. These 4 consecutive losses to USM didn't come at the hands of great teams from Hattiesburg. Most were pedestrian, at best. This year USM is currently 5-5. USM's 2017 team was 8-5, and was eventually blown out 42-13 by Florida St in the Indy Bowl. USM's 2016 team finished 7-6 (with a 28-21 win over ULL in the NO Bowl), while the 2015 team finished 9-5, and lost to Washington 44-31 in the HOD Bowl.
The last USM football team to lose to LA Tech was the 2014 Eagle team that finished 3-9.
I started seeing this same things last night on FB. This is what it is going to take to get the decision makers to at least acknowledge the masses aren’t happy. Tech is not going to fire an 8-4 coach but they have got to start listening at some point. Or maybe not. The wind is starting to blow.
Those negative FB post cause people not to come to the games.
We have problems.
- I don't want or expect Holtz to be fired. Nothing will change with him and the way he does things.
- MBB is the quickest and easiest way to begin to change things. Our AD will stick to doing nothing.
- Six home games in football next year. Our AD has a chance to work toward fans coming back and to change the game day atmosphere. He won't.
Do you have our 2020 schedule?
Holtz will be the HC until he retires or the big money crowd has enough.
I predict next year attendance will be worse than this year.
Honestly, Holtz has successfully made me apathetic about Tech football. Not interesting in the least. Didn’t even watch the USM game. Not interested in a bowl game regardless of the opponent. It’s boring one dimensional offense.
