My crew thoroughly enjoyed the New Orleans bowl a few years ago. Something about walking from the hotel to the restaurant and then to the game inside the Dome makes it enjoyable. I also like how it's before the hustle bustle of the holidays and gluttony of other games. I would definitely go back there and I'm not a huge fan of New Orleans in general.
The students that I know think the same. The product is so lame even the die-hards find it hard to attend. Our AD is either clueless, powerless or thinks this is as good as it can be at Tech. Not sure which one but I guess if we finish 8-5 or 9-4 its gonna be considered another good year so why change a good thing, right?? However, in any business its the customers that determine success and failure. This year's attendance trend along with last year speaks volumes! Attendance this week will surely be sub 10K with maybe 2k on the East and 4-5K on the west. This is the one home game that has always had poor attendance and should be the one that really cheap tics are always made available BEFORE local school kids get our for break, like last week. Otherwise, you get 14-15k on good year and dreadful attendance this Saturday. I'm no marketing major though
I WAS going to attend this game no-matter-what, buuuuut I took off last week to be with family during a medical emergency, SO I'm not able to get off from work enough now to travel for Thanksgiving/Tech game. Oh well...
A game in Ruston this late in the season has so many built in excuses that anyone can find a reason not to go. Family gatherings, schools out, it’s cold, early kick, hunting season, bad product, bad gameday experience, and others I probably missed. Out of towners who make this game, you get major kudos from me.
