I looked up our average home attendance, which was 20,375. This year was 17,524, and the Southern University game was the only one where we had over 20K. The saddest part of all is that in 2017, the sun belt conference averaged 17,843 for home games.
What was Southlands average? That is our benchmark, not Sunbelt.
we would probably be above the Southland average by 6-7,000 even at 17,524. They have some big games but most of those schools draw 10,000 or so a home game. So in TMac's eyes we are balling. The thing that worries me is college football attendance was down nationwide this year for a variety of reasons that have been discussed on here before, now couple that with the truly disappointing play and play calling this year, and I fear the true pain will be evident next season.
You will have the national downtrending attendance coupled with a lot of traditional die hard Tech fans that are not, happy etc. I think next season is where this really bites us in the ass. We already no the true season ticket numbers and core fan base is smaller than anyone wants to admit to begin with.

Not at all! But it's the only numbers available for comparison.
