The 2007 Hawaii game was my 2nd Tech game ever, after the UCA one before it. What an amazing game, I remember hearing about the guidelines for rushing the field if a ranked opponent was beaten at home. It really made me follow Hawaii for the rest of the season and see the other WAC teams for the first time. The Hawaii @ SJSU and Hawaii @ Nevada games were spectacular games that year.

The answer was probably the number of interceptions he threw that time '65 was watching him. NOT his uniform number.

He has abandoned Tech and become a Bama fan, where his Sunshine Pumping "Saban is great!!" is widely accepted.

    Hawaii -2.5 as of today.

Interesting. I still expect it to be over 7 by kickoff.

You guys are too hung up on what Vegas thinks.

Vegas has Bama -14 vs. OK that's a lot of points to give in what many people think is gonna be a straight-up OK win. Or at least, the game will be very competitive like the OK-UGA game was last year.

Also, Vegas ignores the real homefield advantage of 7.8 (8) points. And! that is just the overall average, because we all know teams don't enjoy the same homefield advantage as others. Well, historically, Hawaii is one of those on the high side of the average. The Island, and all its distractions for visiting teams, affords UH a decided homefield advantage. Probably closer to 10.

You think Vegas is right? Fine, take Tech and the 2.5 pts and bet your house on it.

Reading about some of the great games we had with Hawaii in the WAC just reminds me of three things:
    (1) I'm glad we are not in the WAC/MWC anymore because of geography.
    (2) I really miss the excitement of the great games we had with Hawaii, Nevada, Fresneck, Utah and more.
    (3) A reality check of just how bad CUSA has become.

Totally agree. The geography was poor for us in the WAC, no doubt; but I don't know if being able to watch Tech in a number of the away games in person is a benefit. Also, for me the rivalry with Hawaii, Fresno, Boise and Nevada were much more intense.

What we’re in now is just a sunbelt rehash. Maybe better than the current belt, but not by much (in football).

Exactly. The fact that Karl Benson has out performed our over achieving loser of a commissioner says it all. He took nothing and made something out of it. The best thing we can say our commissioner did was to get the first bad TV deal which was explained away as, "this is where all the G5s will be in a few years". Her claim to fame is getting the first bad deal.
