Nobody outside of Mississippi cares about what Mississippi State is doing unless they're from Mississippi. That's how bad their marketing is compared to other schools. If there is one school not to be like, it's Mississippi State.

"It was all hands on deck as the Omaha Storm Chasers (Class AAA; Pacific Coast League) mapped out a marketing campaign celebrating the franchise’s 50th season. The elaborate endeavor, ranging from themed promotions to a feature-length documentary, is our choice for 2018 Best Marketing Campaign in the annual Ballpark Digest Awards."
The one responsible for Baseball Digests 2018 Best Marketing Campaign? "
Why didn't we do any of this for the 50th year of JAS?? "That's not who we are."
Marty would be such a HR hire and if we had any forethought, he would use his connections to get Solomon a job with a front office for some professional team and get him some hands on training to be our AD in waiting when Marty decides to step down.
We all know Marty would be a great hire but Marty is not qualified. He knows too much, he is over 24.3 years old, he might actually want to stay here longer than 1.7 years before moving on to another job, and he probably will not be a Athletic administration butt kisser that some (not all) of the typical Associate AD, Assistant AD, Associate-Assistant AD, Jr. AD and whatever other "AD" title you can come up with.

Leah did not have much to work with when she directed marketing for Tech athletics. She was essentially a 20-something one-person operation with a minuscule budget. But she was willing to work very hard and she was very recognizable to fans and alumni because she worked constantly. No one loves Tech more--she played Lady Techster Softball & graduated here--but she worked for peanuts & knew she had potential to earn much more. It was essentially her first job and did well considering she had little money to work with and no example to follow. Now she has the budget and the staff and her marketing program at Miss St was named the best in the country a few years back. https://hailstate.com/news/2016/6/13...-by-nacma.aspx
