Valerie's dad worked at the GM plant in Shreveport, where my sister also worked. My sister passed on an autographed picture of Valerie she got from her dad. I was the graduate resident of Neilson Residence Hall at the time so I posted it on the living room wall in the GR's apartment. Me not being an interior decorator, it was the only thing on any of the walls. My now wife still pokes fun at me from time to time because that was the only thing on a wall in the apartment when we met.

In today's college football landscape most bowl games are largely irrelevant. So many games with terrible match-ups and many star players skip them unless it is a playoff game to prepare for the NFL draft. Stories about meeting famous or infamous people is more exciting than talking about BYU playing Western Michigan in the Idaho Potato Bowl.
I rode a Northwest flight from Montgomery, AL to Memphis with Aunt Esther.
One common opponent: UNLV. Nevada lost, Arkie State beat UNLV. Based solely on that, I'll take Arkie State in what would be considered as a mild upset.
Besides that, as I recall, Nevada is known for laying an egg in bowls. Back when the WAC was vying for overall best record in the bowls, we could always count on Nevada to lose, and usually to an inferior opponent too.
