In the last 19 years neither one of us has "owned" the other.

Bolded above is what I consider being owned when we really needed to dominate them. These were years when those four losses hurt our RPI and ended a long home court win streak. May have been a record win streak they took from us. The losses were just brushed off by the coaches at the time. 4-1 over five years is being owned. Making it 4-2 does not help much.

They didnt break the long home win streak, ODU did. Konkol beat ULL his first year and the record was gone before last year. Unless you mean a different record.

Mike White was the first coach who did not care about this game. Some goof ball scheduled it on a Wednesday so we only had 4K show up.

I get your point. Still 2 - 2 in the last 4 years is not bad. And we just kicked their @$$ on their court with 2 key players out of the line-up. No way to look at that but as a good thing.

We've had a head baseball coach a few coaches back that also did the same about non-conference games and didn't care. Of course you denied it mattered at the time.

    What are you talking about?

Please stick to factual events and substance when discussing certain shortfalls of our coaching staff you'd rather just ignore.

You do realize that losing a baseball game to Lafayette is not the same as losing a MBB game to them right? Two different sports. Get it?

Not in my book. I hate losing to them chumps in anything.

And! since there's always so much talk, in all sports, about SOS and RPI, or whatever, please explain how YOU think there's a difference.

From a logical standpoint we were losing badly to an average to below average team in MBB on our home court. In baseball we lost a close game to good team which is normal in baseball.

Any person who understands the game of baseball does not go nuts when you lose a game to a good team. Too many variables. That's why it's a great game.

But wouldn't beating a good baseball team help us get that at-large bid we covet?

    It did in 2016.

In 2017 we were short pitching and lost games we should not have lost.

In 2018 we were rebuilding, short pitching, and lost some games we should not have lost, but also won some games we were not expected to win.

    No rebuilding excuse this year.

I and others use to hammer on HC Wade Simoneaux (2003 -2014) for not giving a smit about losing to other state teams or rival recruiting universities if they weren't in our conference and played mid-week. His rotation and gamed decisions drove us all crazy. Somebody on BB&B was always giving him a pass.

Your agreement with D80 simply shows your ignorance about the game of baseball.

I don't recall ever gave Simoneaux a pass. Maybe back during his first contract regarding the manipulation of his budget. There was no question that he should not have been given the last contract.

    I'm confused...I admit it.

Is winning non-conference, mid-week, games important, or not!, to positioning ourselves to get an at-large bid in baseball? The answer to that question is a simple, yes or no.
