I saw that. The Virginia Tech comments I saw were pretty positive (for us - like, "wish he was coming back" or "wish it had worked out, I really liked him"). Looks like a good pick up.
Should have a chance to be a starting safety from day 1. I expect he BeeJay Williamson and Jaiden Cole to be the main three safeties in rotation. Solid group
He played in a system where he was a hybrid and who knows if he was in a zone most of the time.

"The former four-star recruit had an interesting career at Virginia Tech. Ladler suffered a knee injury in his senior year at IMG Academy, forcing Ladler to redshirt in 2016. Ladler returned in 2017 and proceeded to play in 39 games over the next three seasons. Ladler started 11 games in 2018 but didn’t crack the starting lineup in 2019.
Ladler’s value came in his versatility. He lined up at both safety spots and played at whip linebacker as well. Earlier in his career, Ladler spotlighted at cornerback in pressing situations. Overall, Ladler registered 6.5 tackles for loss, five pass breakups and three forced fumbles while in Blacksburg."
Wasn't a starter this last season, but he certainly played. Sounds like he was only a cornerback his first year, then became a safety, SS, LB type. I am optimistic he can contribute right away.
Big time recruit. I hope he rehabs his career here.

Texas senior defensive lineman Gerald Wilbon has committed to Tech, according to 247sports.com, which reports that the former Longhorn lent his verbal on May 14. He'll be immediately eligible to suit up for the Bulldogs this season. The addition of Wilbon marks the fifth transfer the Louisiana Tech coaching staff has pulled in for the 2020 recruiting class. Tech signed Abilene Christian transfer quarterback Luke Anthony back on Signing Day, while it's landed former LSU guard Donavaughn Campbell, Virginia Tech safety Khalil Ladler and Tennessee receiver Jerrod Means, who'll have to sit out this year due to NCAA transfer rules, in three months since.
Hope this Gerald Wilbon has the same impact as Houston Bates did. Hey, maybe we'll beat Texas in a bowl game too!
It’s sad that these transfers haven’t been talked about on the board. It feels like no one cares about Tech athletics anymore.
Not much to talk about on players that haven't set foot on campus in an organized setting yet.
When they arrive on or after June 1, that should change.
