Napier and staff probably did the best in state recruiting job in Cajuns history. Lots of improvements in facilities, living arrangements, academic center, nutrition program and cost of living stipend in Lafayette. The coaches have very much to sell the prospective student athelete. I expect it to only get better next year and in years to come.
My nephew Peter was one of those who signed with the Cajuns. He had an offer by both and was actullay leaning towards you guys early on. Coach Napier took him and his parents on a personal tour of all facilities, athletic, academic and living and that was what change his mind. My brother and sister in law was absolutely blown away by the new young head coach.
Thanks. It was the living conditions, academic center and athletic facilities in Lafayette that helped him make his decision. He is very happy with his choice. He isn't the only one who made a "mistake" in the cajun class.
He has also become close the the Rummell QB fields that turned down Memphis and fellow receiver from ED white Legendre that picked the Cajuns over an offer from Notre Dame.

Every time ULL hires a new coach we have to listen to their fans talk about how great they’re gonna be. It never works out, though.
Good old Memorial Gym
So now ULALA is out-recruiting Notre Dame. Guess we'll see ULALA in the CFP in a few years.
As for Chandler Fields, the Rummel QB, he's a good kid, and a decent HS QB. He is not an FBS quality QB. FCS? yeah, I suppose so. He should have gone to Nicholls, following in the footsteps of former Rummel QBs, most recently Chase Fourcade.
Fields is all of 5'8 1/2", 175 lbs (his real stats). Arm strength, for your typical HS QB is 6.5 out of 10. Saw him make some pretty throws...very Drew Brees-like...on some post patterns when the ball was in the air no more than 25-30 yards max. An okay runner, but nothing special. He was a good high school QB. But since when does that qualify someone to be an FBS-level QB?
If Fields is typical of what ULALA is holding up as some awesome recruiting class, then well, they had better drop into the SLC today.
Enough about ULL.
I think we got a steal in Mykol Clark. After he gains weight and improves his pad level, he can be a really good DE.
If he stays the same size he can be a Jared Dudley sized OLB, who was a really good underrated player for us.
This is so absolutely true. The delusional guys in Lafayette that I work with have once again convinced themselves that they've finally reached the promised land. Lafayette will finally become recognized by people nationwide as the business, medical, oil and gas, cultural, and athletic hub of the south that it is. The Big 12 will surely come calling soon.
