I will just skip over all the negative thread titles, even though there are positive posts in them. We just won our 5th straight bowl game. No matter how we feel about the program right now, this is an awesome accomplishment! Does anyone know how the other 4 teams (that have won 4 straight) did or are doing?
I went to bed happy last night! Way to go Dawgs!!!!!!! And way to go Ferguson!!!!!!!!!
Other THREE teams...we were one of four.
They...Georgia, Utah, Wisconsin....haven't played yet.
UGA vs. Texas (Sugar Bowl)
Wisconsin vs. Miami
Utah vs. Northwestern
I'm thinking all three will probably win. The one at greatest risk is Utah, IMO.

The Elephant is now, our attendance, ticket sales, and LTAC giving after 5 straight bowl wins. BTW, it's the first time an EllAye Tech team has ever won 5 straight bowl games.

I'm focusing on the positive. I really enjoyed watching them play hard and playing with confidence. I also enjoyed my wife, she went to Hawaii, telling me how she used to go to the games and watch Hawaii beat Tech. Then she went to bed at halftime.

We won going away, far from home, and that's the main thing.
Our guys got to take a vacation with their brothers that they will remember forever.

We got to see Dancy fly, and boy does have some jets on him.
We got to see JMar run over 20 yards, and the kid has some wheels. Let's hope we see more of that.
The new kid, Willie Baker, put OCs on notice with 4 sacks.

Great bowl game for a lackluster regular season! I couldn't have been happier with the game itself. We just have to capitalize on another bowl win and get over the hump by winning a conference title.
Obviously I loved the Dawgs great performance in Hawaii. But frankly, I need more than a once a year fix. All this bowl game did for me was prove "what could have been" in 2018.
We have 13 opportunities each year to take a stand and be remembered. We've simply got to start doing this more often than once a year.
We need to restructure his contract so his remuneration depends on how many games he wins. Right now, iirc, he gets bonuses for bowl games and bowl eligibility. That is a lower bar to clear than winning a conference championship, so its the clearly superior choice from a maximum salary perspective.
It needs to be both. # of games won, conference championships, and bowl wins. Each should carry bonus $$$.
Philosophically speaking, I have an issue with the whole bonus thingy. No, it's not a big deal, but winning games, conference titles, bowls, keeping a clean program, high graduation rates, community involvement, fund raising, and other stuff are all a head coach's job. Coaches already get a very nice salary, and some perks. No need for bonuses.
Apply this concept to your own employment situation. Do you tell your boss, hey! I'll achieve that goal....for a bonus. Most places I've worked, it was more like: achieve that goal(s) or you're fired and we'll find someone who can!
How about this approach then? Instead of bonuses for success, deductions for failure.
Okay, coach, your salary is $1 million. Your goals are: 10 regular season wins, a conference championship, a bowl win, a Top 25 finish. We will deduct $100,000 for each failure. Or, something like that. Using that system, coach would get $700,000 this year.
