11 of Texas’ games in 2018 resulted in one score decisions. The average margin of victory was about 6.5 points, and the largest margin of victory was 23. This included 7 point victories over Tulsa, Baylor and KU, and a two point win over KSU.
UT is likely another great recruiting class and two years of development from being the rolling ball of butcher knives some seem to invision. They have also lost both season openers under Tom Herman in embarrassing fashion, and Herman tends to turtle his offense when he gets up by 3-4 scores making for close finishes.
All that to say that I’m pretty sure Texas will win, but a 30+ point beating is probably not in the offing short of some special teams or defensive scores.
Unless there is a super good QB hiding in our roster and Skip actually cares about P5 games in the regular season...there is no reason to get excited about this game.
