    Well, that's done then.

Still a long season ahead. But not promising that we continue to play so poorly for such long stretches.

Not a bad turnout for a commuter school on a dismal Thursday night with school out of session. We used to have some pretty good home crowds, best I remember ??

Long drive home in the cold for our guys. Maybe next time they will come to play ball both halfs and shoot better as well.

I was there. Much better environment than in past. We may have a pretty gritty team. To play that badly with a 7 man rotation and find a way to fight back was awesome.

    Re: 1/3 MBB at UNT

The difference was in the paint
We can’t guard a descent big nor can we score with our bigs.
This has become the norm with Konkol teams
We seem to get athletic players but all under 6’5”
Hard to guard a good 6’10 big when the biggest we put on the floor is one 6’8” very average player that can’t make layups
UNT needed a basket to go ahead their last possession & they feed it to their 6’10 big against out man to man defense for the high % shot
On our last possession we ask our 5’10
guard to drive it and shoot over their 6’10 big & he throws up some crap shot that had no chance
This will repeat itself against the better teams in the conference

Losing to UNT in Denton is not a bad loss....this year. What their coach has been able to do with their culture in such a short time is amazing. If youre going to be upset about something, be upset that his team is playing at such a high level in only his 2nd year after taking over a rotting program...and Konkol took over a rising program 4 years ago that has backpedaled.

100% on the coach...he should have them lined up shooting FTs until they can make 75%. No excuse for 52% at the line.
I'm an asshole! What's your excuse?

I agree. I think we missed our opportunity to win when Pemberton(?) missed the second of two free throws, with the score tied 58-58, with less than a minute to play. Missing that last free throw left the score tied, and UNT with the ball. The pressure was suddenly off of them and back on us.

By the way, this is not a bad road loss. UNT is a good team. But it is a missed opportunity. I did not like our shot selection (short guy drive, high off the glass) on that last drive to the basket at all. Seen better shot selection in church league.

I agree. Its not like a great season was ruined, but a W last night would have come in handy later. We will need it.

Personally, and this goes against conventional thought, I would have held for the last shot and set up a 3. Normally wouldn't, but we are so undermanned we should be going for broke.

I was a little perplexed pulling AA down the stretch. I know he had a rough night, but he had just hit his only 3 when pulled at 4 minute mark.

I don’t think it really mattered, because DayDay took over and the 3 by Langston was down inside the rim and somehow came back out.

As far as last shot goes, we got pushed out beyond the line and waited too late to go. It had worked all night, but the whole set was out of kilter. I really think we were looking for a 3.

I think they were set on not allowing Bracey to get to the rim. Like you said, he started the drive too late and basically had to force up a bad shot (which we've seen too often in end of half situations). It's better to shoot early and maybe get a rebound than let it all ride on a buzzer beater. Anyway, that's not what lost the game ultimately. We had trouble squeezing rebounds late in the game. If they're the best team in CUSA, we'll be competing for the title.
    Have you considered those Dogs?

FT shooting has been Tech's achilles heel for a decade it seems like.
