With ALL that success, the War chickens cant fill up half the stadium with free tics. Their fearless leader is trying to gouge the local tax base because he can't raise any money from his ultra success alum that spend their weekends in Baton Rouge pretending that they graduated from the flagship.

CUSA has two too many members, but there's nothing we can do about it now.

Exactly why cusa should have never let fiu and fau in years ago. They have been terrible in everything that matters save for one sport one year since becoming a member and further diluted the conference pay outs. I said years ago we should boot them out and go down to 12.

So? Tech went bowling while USM sat home. What does a conference game have to do with non-conference performance?

Here you are on our board blaming Judy and C-USA leadership for the Belch getting more CFP money than C-USA when Southern Miss is a big reason why, going 0-fer vs. FBS in OOC play, losing to the JUCO this year in Hattiesburg while Tech went 2-0 vs. G5 on the road and hasn't lost an OOC game to a G5 conference since TCU/MWC in the 2011 Poinsettia Bowl before the G5 even existed.

The problem isn't leadership. The problem is with your football team losing to a program it had no business losing to, and the Buzzards have no one to blame for that but themselves. A more appropriate title for this thread is "Buzzards' failure give Belt millions of what should be C-USA's dollars."

You are correct in the assertion that USM shares the blame. I am afraid we have let the company we keep drag us down to their level. We founded this conference and at times, there was no doubt who the best outside of the p5 was. USM. Louisville. TCU. Houston. UCF. Cincinnati. USF. ECU. And, we won multiple CUSA championships during that time. The creation of 3.0 gave many of us the false hope that we would dominate and rule the league with all these teams no one had ever heard of (Charlotte/Old Dominion/FAU/FIU/WKU/UTSA). Wrong. I believe getting left behind when all of our peers/rivals went AAC had an effect on the program that still haunts us today. We had a winning record against every team (also including Tulane,Memphis and SMU) that left for the AAC, and yet here we sat, twiddling our thumbs, waiting for something good to happen. I heard it phrased best by a long time supporter; "These other programs used CUSA as a springboard to better things. USM used it as a hammock" So yes Dawg06, you are correct. The conference sucks in part because we haven't been the USM of old in quite some time. With a road game against Troy this year, we may well lose to another Belt team. We may lose them all. Except this one game that history shows we have a 70% chance of winning. Pretty sure the other team will find a way to give us another one.

I have ten season tickets in section EE right on the 50 yard line. I regularly fill four of them, but I have hell finding six more people that'll actually come to the game. I try my best to give them to people that would not otherwise come, but that's getting harder and harder to do. I can't even get some Tech graduate friends of mine that live IN RUSTON interested enough to invest an afternoon/evening in Tech football. I probably averaged six filled per game last year, and that's with having had all ten filled for the Southern game.

You saw the empty seats at every home game this year.

Thanks to our AD the students have stopped attending as well.

Question for Scott McDonald: if extended an invitation to join CUSA tomorrow, would you accept it?

That's what I thought. BTW Scott you aren't getting one so carry on.

    Re: Belt has arrived

We have struggled to create and maintain enthusiasm with our base, especially the students. That's the administrations fault. We have however are in the middle of the longest period of stability in our FBS history. Five strait bowl wins is nothing to sneeze at. I think at this time, the MAC, Sunbelt and CUSA are the same. The Sunbelt was smart and moved to 10 teams where they can cut larger pieces of the pie, while CUSA gambled and lost on expansion. Let the Belters gloat about their over all success for coming in third in the tallest midget race. Tech still goes to bowls and ULM doesn't.
