During his press conference Skip stated that Bonoil will enroll at Tech and he and Barnes will be competeing to replace our punter. He talked about both of their lineage and ties to Tech but said nothing about preferred walk on or scholarship.

Preferred walk-ons don't sign anything binding anyway. They do not sign NLIs.

I didn't think so, but my point was that Boniol (Chris) knows that we are trading good grades for no promise of real shot at a position.

Of all the positions on the field, punters and kickers are the one where walk-ons have the best chance to see the field.

I hadn't seen anything prior to this that Boniol was supposed to be a walk-on. If he is, our coaches were not supposed to address him specifically because he's still a recruitable athlete.

coach said 2 from last year count for this year.

I believe he said he had about 5 to work with (that was before Malik signed).

When you look at this class, it is not very big in recruiting terms. This may be the smallest class that we have released on signing day, but that also gives us five to play with. When you look at the transfer portals, there are over 1,800 players that have put their name into the transfer portal this year

HCSH said in presser that there are a record number of players in the transfer portal and they are recruiting a couple from that list.
I believe he said we have a total of 20 spots on 85 man roster open.
